House Guests!

You know what they say about when it rains it pours? Well, this is one of those weeks, but in a really good way!! It's been super busy in our house, with a stream of visitors in and out! Sunday afternoon my parents arrived with my littlest, (I use the term loosely as he's 6'4"), brother Jordan and his girlfriend Haley. Jordan and Haley moved to Seattle in April, and this was their first visit to the Lone Star State since. They spent a week at Haley's mom's, a few days at my parent's and were rounding out their trip at our house since we live closest to the airport. How lucky we are! ;)

Anyway, they all arrived Sunday afternoon in time to help fix a spread of Mexican food for dinner. We're talking beef and pork fajitas, homemade guacamole, corn and black bean salsa, fresh homemade salsa, and my momma's coconut macaroons. My brother and his friend Eddi also came over for dinner. I was too busy to take any pictures, sadly. But, I know Haley took some with her camera and I think she took some with my film camera as well. It was interesting having four people stay the night at our house, as I think the most we ever had at our old apartment was three because most people lived in the same town, and only my parents have stayed with us since we moved here. My parents left early Monday morning because my mom had to be back at work Monday at noon, but Jordan and Haley stayed until Tuesday afternoon when I had to take them to the airport.

Let me just say for the record that DFW airport is my absolute least favorite airport I have ever been to!! I think it's a crazy maze and the signs are misleading, and I always dread going there. I've never actually had to drive through it myself, and was not really looking forward to it.

Surprisingly, we made it into the airport without a hitch, and the biggest shock of all, I made it out of the airport, and back to my house without getting lost, (or having to turn around), at all! AND, it only took me 25 minutes! HA! I was pretty freaking proud of myself!! I didn't even use the GPS. Nevermind the fact that I pretty much just had to stay on one road the whole way, that's beside the point!

So, after Jordan and Haley left yesterday I had one night to myself to just be lazy before today when I had to start washing all the bedding, and cleaning the house again. My in-laws are coming tomorrow and staying thru Sunday afternoon! Jonathan and his dad have been scoping out golf courses online for the past week or two, and they've got a list of ones they want to try out, and Carol and I are going Christmas shopping! I'm pretty excited and I think we're going to have a really great weekend!

They've not seen our house yet, so all night tonight I've been trying to get everything super clean, and hang up a few picture frames here and there that I've been meaning to get to and just haven't yet. I really wish Jonathan was here to help, but he's worked the past three nights so that he would have off all four days that his parents are here.

I apologize for not posting for a week and then writing this super-long, boring post, but I wanted to let you know that we're still alive, just busy for once! ;)
