An Autumn Questionnaire

The results of our first pumpkin carving experiment back in 2008.

Shannon at Sincerely Shannon tagged me to answer the following 8 questions. Here are my questions and answers, complete with some pictures from the past few falls, just because I don't like picture-less posts! ;) Most of them are from 2008 because last fall we were in the middle of moving.

1. Do you like Starbucks? And are you a fan of their seasonal coffees (aka. pumpkin spice latte)?
Sooo...I have a confession to make....I had my very first pumpkin spice latte last Friday! I know people have been raving about them for years, but I'd resisted trying it because I'm not a big cinnamon fan and for some reason I thought it would be cinnamon-y, but I was so wrong. Oh. My. It was delish!

2. How do you decorate and prepare for fall?
Fall is second favorite holiday/season to decorate for, next to Christmas. I love all the pumpkin spice candles, little pumpkins everywhere, my orange pillows, etc. I just love it all!

3. Will you participate in your college's homecoming activities?
Haha, no...I went to college at a tiny Arkansas school and honestly never even went to a home game while I was in school. Pathetic, I know. ;)

The BEST sugar cookies ever, I made using my great-grandmother's recipe for Family Day
at my sister-in-law's college in 2008. They're so yummy!

4. What is your favorite fall clothing item or accessory?
Such a hard question!! I think fall clothes are the prettiest! My favorites are probably boots and scarves though.

5. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
We didn't really celebrate Halloween, just usually went to the church's "fall festivals", but I do remember being Pocahontas when I was in 5th grade and thought I was pretty cute with my long dark hair in pig tails and my "Indian" dress my mom made me with fringe and beads on it. SO wish I had a picture to share with you guys...on second thought, maybe not!

Me and my cousin Sarah at her Halloween Party last year.
I'm Rosie the Riveter, she's a 1950's housewife.
I apologize for the crazy lighting and the blurriness, people tend to
be intimidated by my cameras so most pictures of me look like this. :(

6. Do you like halloween/horror movies? Do you have a favorite?
I do not like horror/scary movies. Usually I end up either grossed out or just bored because I already figured out the surprise ending. My ADD and scary movies don't really mix well! haha

My "M" pumpkin I carved in 2008.

7. What is your favorite fall activity? (College football games, Costume parties, Trick or treating, carving pumpkins, haunted houses, apple picking, etc)
I really like driving up in the mountains when the leaves change colors. I miss being so close to the mountains in Arkansas! Jonathan and I have been wanting to take a hiking/camping trip so bad lately and we'd love to time it to see the leaves in all their splendor.

8. What is your favorite fall recipe?
I have lots! White chili, pecan pie, butternut squash bisque, brussels sprouts, (don't knock them until you try them!), pumpkin bread, and of course all kinds of Thanksgiving food!! I think I'll have to do some recipe posts in the coming weeks to share with y'all!

A "turkey" cheeseball I made for Thanksgiving appetizers last year.

Now comes the time when I'm supposed to make up 8 new questions and pick 8 people to answer them. Except that I'm not creative enough to think of new questions, and I really want to know more about everyone, not just 8 people! I think Shannon's questions were great, so if you want to answer them, I would LOVE to read your answers!!

Happy Fall Y'all!!

Jennifer

  1. Love your answers and your fall decorations! Today is the first cool day and it actually feels like fall now (unlike Saturday when it was 90 degrees). So I am getting my decorations out as soon as I get home from work!
