In the Heart of Our Home

The past few weeks I've been participating in Kelly's Korner's "Show Us Where you Live" home tours. Thank you all for all of the lovely comments on our home, y'all are too sweet! I hope you enjoy today's part of the tour, and as always to see some fantastic rooms check by Kelly's Korner!
*I'm SOOO late in posting this because we had a super busy weekend!*

So, you've seen our living room...

our master bedroom...

and our dining area.

Today's part of our home tour tour brings us around to the heart of the home--the kitchen!

When we were looking at rent houses/townhouses before moving last year, a lot of the places we looked had basically the same kitchen. Honestly I couldn't care less about granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. When we looked at this house though, we noticed it had a leg up on the competition, in the form of a gas stove and an enormous pantry. I literally walked in the kitchen and decided this would be the house. I hadn't even seen half the house yet!

Now, because it's a rent house there's nothing we can change about it hardware wise. I'm more of a white cabinet girl, and there's nothing I can do about these cabinets, we're just thankful for all the space we have. But, if you wanted to just imagine it with white cabinets and some subway tiles it would be perfect. ;)
A pretty "M" plate, glass jar full of k-cups, and our beloved Keurig on the counter by the sink.

The toaster, fruit bowl, and paper towels on the other side of the sink.

The kitchen cart is from IKEA and we bought it and redid it a little back in August, (read about it here). We've had a lot of family and friends stay with us in the past month or so, and it's been great to have the extra counter space and storage space. I'm still trying to decide what would be best put on the shelves, I've tried several options and have not really been thrilled with any of them, so it's just sitting empty for now.

Breakfast bar between the living room and dining area looking into the kitchen.

Some fall decorations and cookbooks on top of the refrigerator.

More fall decorations on top of the cabinets.

As someone who really enjoys cooking and spends a lot of time doing so, my favorite two parts of the kitchen are the gas cooktop...

Platter with all my frequently used items ready to go.

...and the pantry.

Yeah, I'm probably the only person alive in love with a pantry, but the one in our apartment before we lived here was really tiny, so it's glorious to have all this space!!

I may be a tad OCD about keeping it organized, (hence all the labels). I just think it looks so nice when everything is all nice, neat and in it's place! ;)

That's pretty much all there is to it!

Thanks for stopping by our kitchen!

Jennifer
