We've had an increasingly fussy baby the past couple of weeks, (especially in the evenings), and everyone kept telling me that once he was over the 6 week growth spurt all would be well, and they sure were right!! The past couple of days he has been so alert, sweet, and happy, we are loving all the precious baby smiles!! It is a little difficult to capture the smiling baby in pictures though because he moves so fast!
One of my favorite things about visiting our hometown this time of year is springtime on the farm, it is so incredibly gorgeous!
This is the clearest picture I could get of the roses because it was super windy out.

So green!
I spent a couple of minutes trying to get a picture of the driveway similar to one I took in the fall of 2010. I have several shots and will probably have to edit the closest match to get them to line up perfectly, but here is the driveway in spring:
and in the fall:
I think I'll have to get another shot in July/August and around Christmas and we can see it in all four seasons. ;)
Henry also got to spend the weekend meeting lots and lots of family members! I didn't take too many pictures, (shame on me!), but here he is with my Grandpa and cousin Lily:
I should have gotten my Nana to take a break from making an angel food cake and join us! I didn't manage to get a picture of her with Henry. :(
Here she's doing her "favorite run" as she called it. ;)
Oh, and my sweet Momma sent me home with some fresh herbs from her garden. And by "some" I mean TONS! See:
We have fresh rosemary, basil, dill, oregano, parsley, chives, and cilantro! I feel like I hit the jackpot a little bit, I LOVE fresh herbs but they are SO expensive at the grocery store! I had a big basil plant last year that I managed to keep alive all during our freakishly hot 110+ degree weather for months, and then somehow let it die in the fall. Wah, wah... I've heard that basil is a little temperamental, so maybe I should try growing some other herbs. Any advice on hard to kill plants? I'm pretty hopeless in the green thumb department.
Anyway, I am so, so excited to have all these herbs I've been thinking all morning about my favorite recipes that utilize herbs the best, and looking at new recipes on pintrest. I'm getting excited about dinner this week!! ;)
Hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well!
Jennifer
