Here in Texas we're smack in the middle of the dog days of summer. We've had a more mild summer than usual, and a couple weeks ago were having down right pleasant temperatures, but now we're back to normal and triple digits forecasted all week. It's the time of year when we all begin to wonder if summer is actually ever going to end.
I've always been a summer baby; I love warm temperatures, being outside, swimming, but by this point even I've grown tired of the heat. Bring on the cooler temperatures! And the pumpkin spice lattes, and sweaters and boots, and decorating for fall!
this picture is actually from 2011 but I cannot stop thinking about it lately!
We don't have an Einstein Bros within hours of us anymore and I want an everything bagel with a plain cream cheese shmear and a pumpkin spice latte so badly!
I kind of feel like we rushed through fall a little bit last year, and didn't really enjoy it. One year ago we were packing up our house in DFW and moving everything in to storage for six weeks. We lived with friends for six weeks until we closed on our house in the beginning of October and then it was a flourish to try and get this place livable/make it seem like our home. It was the most intense few months of an absolutely insane year. Somewhere fall came and went without us ever bringing out a single piece of our fall decor. We may have hung up a fall wreath, but I'm not sure.
So this year, I'm starting to get excited about fall already! I've always been a big fan of seasonal decorations, and the last time I think we really decorated the house for fall was in 2010:
I'm itching to pull out the pumpkins, leaves, and burlap. I want to put a batch of these pumpkin muffins in the oven. And just as soon as I find a suitable outfit, (I've been stalking zulily for a couple weeks now, and have found a couple options just nothing perfect enough to pull the trigger. I'm seriously considering this sweet outfit, but I feel like it's so similar to last year's), I'll be ready for some sweet pumpkin patch pictures. The sweet, little, round baby from last year's pictures looks quite a bit different these days!
Anyone else ready for summer to wrap up and fade in to fall? What are you most looking forward to this fall?
P.S. In case you don't follow along on instagram or Facebook, we painted another room in our house recently and I'll share more of that later this week! I'm so excited about it!!
